NTT+ Project Objectives
1) the improvement of the role of the town twinning officers
that from a manager of people-to-people contacts or citizens meetings is
required to become the manager of more complex types of relationships which
are more demanding in terms of strategic planning with the partners, networking
within their administrations ;
2) the involvement and the active engagement of the managers
of policy area(s) within the municipality covered by the thematic networking
activities
3) the development of monitoring and quality management tools designed for the networks of twinned towns that allow a more effective implementation of the projects and more consistency between planned objectives and results achieved in practice.
The project will therefore directly contribute to the objective of the Europe for citizens programme by:
- Developing new skills among the civil servants involved
- Improving the capacity of the local administrations to
produce sustainable and high quality thematic networks
- Developing new tools for monitoring the implementation
/ and quality evaluation of town twinning network projects
- Revitalize and develop town twinning relations
